Three college girls are driving to a concert in a rainstorm when they crash their car. They are rescued and brought to the nearest shelter, which happens to be a large mansion. The mansion is home to the remaining members of the Penrose family. The girls soon realize that something is terribly with the family as a killer stalks them one by one.
Due to its presence on the Video Nasties list, this piece of garbage has been sought after by many poor souls. It saddens me to think of anyone seeking out Unhinged. Anyone without their own editing equipment, that is. If you can shave the running time down to about 9 or 10 minutes, you'd have a very cool short horror film on your hands. Director Don Gronquist is a hack and is bent on wasting the viewer's time at any cost.
Unhinged features one decent actress (Penner), one comatose ashtray passing for a human actress who doesn't wake up until the last 5 minutes, a couple of bloody murders, a little nudity, and long seemingly unending scenes with dreadfully delivered dialogue. I cannot under any circumstances recommend this movie. It is not rewarding in any way nor does it belong in anyone's horror collection except mine, because I'm stupid.
